Enough of the "socialized" medicine we already have where the responsible ones among us pay the bills for those who refuse to get insurance. If makes since for autos then it makes sense for health care too. By forcing everyone to take personal responsibility ( a very conservative concept) Americans will not be forced to carry the weight for those who do not plan ahead and expect us to pick up the tab should disaster strikes. Is it perfect? NO. Do I wish we didn't have to resort to this? YES. But the system is broken and something's gotta give. An invidual madate is ten times better than a government takeover or a single payer system. You choose. Reform is necessary and this is a conservative compromise. The very conservative Heritage Foundation crafted Romney's health care reform package and still support him. An individual mandate is a good idea.
