As a physician, I was taught to see patients, not to run a business. I am learning through the school of hard knocks, that medicine IS a business. In order to survive, my fellow physicians will need to realize this as well. A major part of my "education" has been at the hands of insurance companies. These are lessons which can NOT be ignored. We need to pay attention to how we deal with insurance companies and advocate to get paid for the job we do.
